Was just reading that there is interest in Eustachy coming to Lincoln... not as interesting now that we don't play them anymore, but would be interested to see if he could get Nebraska to be more competititve in the Big 10

I doubt Doc will be out, but if he was it'd be awesome to see LE kick everyone's *** in the Big 10.

Doc will be out... Very wide speculation on this from OWH and other Nebraska news sites. Doc was lucky to get this year. I'm guessing with them switching from Big 12 to Big 10 was the reason.

But yes... Unlike what clones21 said, he will be gone.

Obviously this is the job Fred was waiting for when he took the ISU job. After all, Fred's grandpa was kNU's head BB coach. He will be there in a heartbeat when the kNU job opens up.

    Really? :jimlad:

My guess it will be an MVC coach like a Paul Lusk or Gregg Marshall or Maryland assistant Scott Spinelli who was an assistant under former coach Barry Collier...

This. A better scenario would be KNU offers LE the job and he tells them "thanks, but no thanks".

If his team performs well in the post-season, I see him getting a much better offer.

I'd hope LE doesn't land in Lincoln, first of all because there's no way in hell I'd ever want Husker bball(or any sport) to be sucessfull, and second of all because that is a coaching graveyard. Collier and Sadler are both solid coaches but basketball will never matter there, not even with their new facilitiy.

I could cheer for Nebraska in basketball if LE was there, primarily because I'd be their only fan. I'd almost like to cheer for them, because then you're cheering against all the Nebraska football fans who are busy cheering for Creighton.

I think Larry would go to kNU. Hard to start winning there though.

Can't be much harder than getting Southern Miss. to where they are now.

I see Larry going to Illinois before that dump of a program in Lincoln.

I doubt it happens that he goes to kNU and there is a lot of love and bias for Eustachy from Cyclones still, but he is a proven winner wherever he's coached and to not think he'd win there is counter his career. 377-249 record. A lot of teams including Iowa bball and Nebraska bball would take that record. He only has been below .500 four times since starting his head coaching career in 1990 and usually it was not by much and early in taking over jobs. He has 10 20+ win seasons and a 32-5 season at ISU. He turned Southern Miss from 11-17, 10-21 in first two season to 15 wins, 19 wins, and four 20 win season including this one (they are 23-6 right now.) Early in his career he won 19, 18, 24 at Idaho and took Utah St. From 14-13 to 21, 18, 20, and 25 wins the next four years. In all: dude knows college bball, can flat out coach and recruit. Most non-elite teams in Big 10 would be lucky to have him.

I disagree that he can "recruit".
