I-380 has just been closed in Cedar Rapids.

Could just be a matter of time that there is no way to get across the river, as there is only one option right now, which is going all the way to highway 13.

Apparently this has reopened except for 1 lane to be reserved for emergency vehicles

I actually just got on I-380 off of Hwy 30 (bout 20 min ago) and they were still diverting all traffic off of I-380 onto Hwy 30. Big Cluster all over the higways there.

EDIT: My bad, they just re-opened it (as I can see on the news.)

Rain is horrible around CR also, had to pull over on Hwy 30 for a few minutes because we couldn't see the car in front of us. Not what they need!

A lot of mixed news is floating around. I've heard completely closed, one-lane open, and now only one-lane closed. Can anyone confirm any of the stories???

I thought it was weird that as KGAN was reporting that it was completely shut down, they were also showing a live video of it they said that had cars driving on it.

They have just said on KGAN that there is one lane open and one lane for emergency vehicles only.

Traffic backed up for over a mile on Hwy 30 now also.

just got home from north 380. traffic was moving ok north, but south is just siting. wmt 600 said it would be a matter of sooner than later on when they will be shutting it down from County Home Rd to Highway 30. downtown CR is a mess. water is above stop signs in some areas. unbelieveable.

Take a moment to process that. Visualize how tall most stop signs are. Now picture water that high.

    Ugh.

CR is going downhill very fast, the Coralville res is going to crest at 33 feet. Iowa City is going to be devastated.

They have video on tv fro a heli in Iowa city and that new marriot they built by the river is going to get hit hard. The water is close now, but I don't think it will take the new 33 foot crest they are talking about.

A coworker is moving to Cedar Rapids in 2 weeks. She does not appreciate all of the updates I am providing.
