The Big 12 looks very legit this year. How many teams does everyone think make it? ISU, OSU, Kansas, and Baylor are pretty much locks, but K-State, Oklahoma, and possibly Texas look like tournament teams. It's looking like a wonderful year for the Big 12. I'm going to say ISU, OSU, Kansas, Baylor, K-State, and Oklahoma make it and Texas just gets left off the bubble. Six tourney teams would be a fantastic way to represent our league.

One thing is starting to be apparent; teams in this league are going to beat the hell out of each other. They will be ready for the dance if they get in.

Right now I'd say ISU, OSU, KU, Baylor and Oklahoma are good bets, with Kstate, Texas and WVU bubble teams.

Current BPI projections have 6, with WVU being in and Texas and KState just out.

why can't we be this good in a year with a down Big 12? only solution is to be this good every year.

West Virginia is an interesting team, and a lot better than their 10-5 record indicates. They've been "in" every single game they've played, and none of the losses have been blowouts. They can score the ball well, and four guys are averaging in double figure scoring. The scary part is that they're young, which means they've got room for improvement (but could also play very inconsistently). They're just the type of team that could be up and down all year, but plunk off just enough good teams to weasel their way into the tournament.

To be the best, you've got to beat the best. The conference schedule will be a great warm up for the NCAA's. I'd rather have it this way, then a coast through the Big 12 and an early bounce out of the tournament. Our non-con schedule was pretty decent as well. I think this team will do just fine.

In my reckoning WV currently leads the Big 12 because they are 2-0 and both of their wins have been road wins. The bad news for Huggy Bear is that those wins were at the expense of Tech and TCU.

5 at minimum and 7 at best but I'd say a better chance of 6 or even 7 making it than just 5 teams from the Big 12 making the big dance. If the 7th team misses, them and the 8th best team goes to NIT. Last 2 teams go CBI/stay home.

Here's hoping KU tanks further and misses the tourney.

Lunardi was on one of the later ESPN shows last night with his first in-out thing.

He said Big 12 with 7.

He also said Big Ten with 6. (I'll be covering all action on who finishes 7th, BTW)

They didn't have any impressive non-conference wins, either. They're 1-5 against RPI Top 150 teams. They'll have to make a few of those go the other way to get any consideration, but they've been close before.

I'd go with 6, KSU & WVU being the ones who miss out. With the exception of Fort Worth all the road games are going to be tough.

WVU just won two road conference games. They are underrated.

I think seven will make the Big Dance: ISU, KU, BU, OSU, KSU, UT, and OU. WVU is the outlier this year; will probably make the NIT instead.

IMO conf winner is 13-5 and 2-3 teams share the crown. I honestly think 6 teams make it, that osu win by ksu is going to carry a lot of water.
