Basketball's the money maker, and that's what gets most of the attention. But our wrestlers are very quickly putting together one of the better seasons in recent memory. After a slow start to the season, they've taken first at Midlands, third at the national duals, losing to the eventual champs in the semifinals, and now sit at 3-0 in conference after completing a weekend sweep of #8 Oklahoma (27-9) and #4 Oklahoma State (21-12). The win over Oklahoma State being their second win over the Cowboys this year. They still have a very difficult dual left against Missouri, but this team looks strong and poised to make a move.
  2. The Mizzou dual will be tough but they're setting themselves up to be in a good position to get a lot of guys to Nationals if they wrestle well at the conference meet. I'm anxious to see what they can do over the rest of the season.

I think the most exciting thing is we are starting 6 freshman. To have the kind of success they're having as a team is incredible. We will lose 3 All-Americans next season but could be even better next season. The way they are wrestling now, we have a shot at pulling out a national championship. We will need a couple upsets but it is not completely out of the question. All of the freshman are ranked in the top 20 and are improving at a steady pace. Cael has something special and will get ISU wrestling back on top sometime in the next 2 or 3 seasons.
