Well, this is random, and I haven't posted on here for a long time... but I'm having some problems identifying a song that's played at Jack Trice.
I think it was played before every game, and it was for sure played today (MU). It was also played the other day at the Women's bball game.
    With that said-

It's some kinda rap/hiphop/techno kinda song (is it obvioius I have a lot of experience with these genres...). I would describe it as very repetitive, basically the same measure or two repeated the whole song. It's instrumental with no lyrics, at least with where I think it starts and ends at.

If it helps, here's the best I can describe what it sounds like:
The bass drum hits on 1 and 3 - "boom .... boom-boomboom" (in more musical terms, quarter, rest, eight 16th 16th, rest). There's a "chik" sound on the "rests" i mentioned earlier, when the bass isn't doing anything.
On top of that, there's a dj "scratching" or whatever type sound that repeats.
And finally, above that, there's a more electric sounding noise that makes me think "oh-a-oh-a-oh oh-a-oh-a-oh".

So, is this making any sense at all?? I'd really like to find this song cause I think that'll help me get it out of my head!

btw: my sister has been to a game a while back, and I gave her this description of the song and she thinks she knows it and complained that they play it at high school dances as well - if that helps

not Twilight Zone or Zombie Nation...
and I play the National Anthem at nearly all of our sporting events :sweet:

in the stadium it's played around 40mins before kickoff, when they play all that music that makes me wonder what state I'm actually in :rofl8yi:

Like "Morris Brown" - Outkast is one that's played all the time too

Is this the one you're thinking of? Go about 1/2 way through the song and I think you will really start to hear the section you're talking about.

    Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400

    Song Clips

There about 1000 remixes of this one.

i think he said it wasn't zombie nation...Warder, does the song go on forever and have a really long section without lyrics that seems to repeat forever?

it's definately not zombie nation (or twilight zone)

It's only played before the game starts. People are probably heading to or just entering the stadium when they'll play it.

I would say that it's more repetitive than zombie nation (zomb nati has a longer phrase, and that main theme changes throughout the real version or remixes)

Edit: now that I see the latest responses - "yes" to your questions ... goes on forever, no lyrics

I'm not the best impersonator of techno songs, otherwise I would.
I tried creating a midi of how I remember the song, but I couldn't get it sounding how I wanted.

who's this sandstorm by? I have an account with rhapsody so I can listen to a lot of songs (off the monthly fee) ... I tried a search on it and listened to a few random artists but didn't recognize anything.

edit: from that link - ah, yes that song... but not the one I'm trying to find -- this one is new, I don't remember it being played in previous years, not really a "pep tune" or anything, just a kill the time type song before games...

I'm going to send an email to athletics, see if they can send me a list of tracks/artists that they play before games. Hopefully I can get a response in the next few days, and I'll let you guys know what it was if I ever figure it out.

is there really a song, or are you just pulling everyones chain. LOL

I think you have the best idea by sending an email good luck, and make sure you post what song it is after you find out. you got everyone all worked up about it now.

I was at the game yesterday and heard a song by the band that is played at the WBB games. The song is by Green Day, but I cannot remember the name. I will see if I can find out what the songs name is.
