  1. Gilbert named UT starter| KXAN.com

Cy-bookie on whether or not hes still starting by the time they reach Ames?

Goes on to say Texas has 12 Freshman and Sophomores currently holding down starting positions.
Either the last couple classes are awesome as expected, or another 6-6 type year is looming.

Think he's going to have nightmares when he comes to Ames?

  5. Fozzy Whittaker listed as the starting tailback. Malcolm brown is 3rd string right now. Seems that for all that talent and hype he may have to learn the offense 1st.

The list I found didn't break the players down by class, but the center is a freshman. Rump and McDonough will get to welcome him to Big 12 football.

Not so fast. I think it will have more to with if their line play has improved.

Playing all those freshmen is interesting, what's going on with all of those supposed top ranked recruiting classes? Glad we play them early, they won't be quite as seasoned as they will be later in the year.

Yep, their OL was not good last year and in particular, the guy Lattimer faced was horrible. Lattimer didn't do anything that other DEs didn't do against Texas. Gilbert had to run for his life and they had no run game

That's good news for ISU. At least Gilbert is a known quantity to our coaches and players.

If you don't believe that Gilbert has not improved at all from last season, you're a bit foolish. That being said, I don't think he's really improved all that much. Kind of the best that UT has at present.

Of course he has improved, so has everyone else. My point is that I'd rather face Gilbert again then some unknown quantity. How many times has that screwed ISU over...Chase Daniel anyone???
