Is it me or did Johnson get a great deal more hype?
Its a race issue.
By local media or national? Shawn is from Iowa. Gabby is from Florida.
I don't see color
This, and wasn't Shawn considered the best overall gymnast? I'm pretty sure Gabby is an underdog of sorts.
Speaking of gymnastics.. Did anybody else see Nastia Liukin face plant on the uneven bars?
Not 3 weeks before she didn't
Btw, I wonder what WDM fathers are having to shell out for Chow's.
Not sure I would have gotten up. Granted I couldn't even get on the uneven bars.

Plus Shawn had a great smile.
Yeah I kind of felt bad for her because I was hoping she could make the team. I couldn't tell if she was hurting or if she was disappointed that she would not be heading to London now.
SJ was the reigning World All Around Champion from 2007 and the odds on favorite to win the 2008 Olympics.
Also Gabby D. is from Virginia
That was Nasty!
Nice whiff by the guy that was supposed to catch her if she missed it.
That guy is her coach who is her dad. ouch.
Nastia had a tough run, but there are some new girls that are quite good.
Gabby is a stud. She's confident and very talented.
As was mentioned earlier, Shawn was a world champion which is why she got a lot of hype.
The 2012 US team looks pretty good. No home court advantage for the Chinese team this year either.
I would be more concerned about the nickname they have given her...The Flying Squirrel....
Gymnastics is extremely tough. You can tell if you're off your game just for 1 night, its over. Not one of the girls from the 2008 team is returning.
I was really hoping at least Nastia or Alicia would have made it again so that I could have a hottie to look at without feeling like a pedophile.
