Football Insider: Top weight gains as spring nears | News | Football | Cyclone Fanatic
I've added 8-9 pounds since RAGBRAI, but it isn't good weight.:spinny:
Thank you Chris.
I appreciate the fact that I didn't have to go to the Football Forum to get this information.
(I'm over here a lot!)
You are the best.
I'm going to take the QB weight gains with a bit of a grain of salt.
Nice article, CW. One thing that did jump out at me was that Robbie Garcia's weight did NOT change--still at 277 from last season. I found that as curious as some of the gains.
And I hope that Daniel Burton's extra weight is "good" weight, not just a beach ball belly. Had enough of that with McCarney's guys/
Here's to hoping that all those red shirts Rhoads was bragging about a season or two ago starts to pay dividends. Encouraging to see young defensive linemen and backers making significant strides.
Dang it, somebody moved it! :realmad:
Seriously Chris, thank you for all of your hard work.
Let's hope it isn't big belly weight, lol. Seriously though all we've heard about the last 2 years is how we have the greatest weight room facilities in the entire nation. Yet we see lineman who are either too thin or too flabby on both sides of the ball. It's time to start producing Chris Doyle type results or its time to find another S&G coach. Seriously. When was the last time we went into game 1 and you said to yourself "man we look like a legit top tier big 12 team"… I realize we were pretty young last year but it's time to start getting some results from the millions put into making this a competitive fball team.
We haven't had the new facilities long enough to see huge strides. You also will see the difference in the juniors and seniors who have down the road used since their freshman year..
It doesn't instantly improve them when they step on campus. We had a young new team last year.
I feel like the new football facility will pay greater dividends in recruiting than actual S&C.
Yancy said he had everything he needed equipment wise in the old weight room.
The new weight room is just bigger, nicer and flashier. Thus, more appealing to recruits, but not necessarily more functional.
The new technology will help.
