It's a Vegas paper. Of course they say their chances are good.

Even if this article is old, I would bet there will be some articles following Vaughn's visit that will pump up the home teams chances from the local papers that will cause lots of hand wringing on this board.

UNLV's crowd isn't very great. They only recently started to get into it. Both teams seem pretty mediocre too.

There couldn't be a bigger difference between Ames and Las Vegas.

So, Vaughn is going to choose UNLV over Iowa State based on the result of the Illinois game?

Based on it? No, but if you don't think this factors into anyone's decision at all then you're wrong. Games show a lot of things about a program. This is about marketing for someone who is going to the NBA. ESPN isn't going to pick up your game if your team is bad just because you have a great player on your team. There are players all the time averaging 25-30 points/game for ****** teams and nobody ever knows about them because they play for teams that aren't very good.

UNLV with an ISU McDermott-eque play to finish the game.

LOL at that last UNLV possession. That game was ugly all around, but for the only time ever I am happy the big 10 is leaving with a win
