according to Dave Ubben they set a new record at Boone Pickens Stadium tonight with an announced attendance of 58,895, I guess I thought that place was much bigger then Jack Trice

Pretty sure ISU was averaging (or still is averaging?) a higher attendance than OSU this year.

GIA has the same thing going. The place is tiny, but it gets hell-burnin' loud.

Not fair. Okie St. Has to compete with the Sooners for love, while all we have to put up with is a fading Iowa program that has never been considered an elite outside of Iowa.

If we were as good as OSU, our fan base would explode.

I think there is an ISU grad who is one of the richest people in the world. Not positive though.

BPS holds 60,000. I don't think OSU has ever sold it out. Tickets are extremely expensive, and their fan bases just isn't that big.

I know Dennis Allbaugh is the 105th richest man in America and he lives in Ankeny, but I think he's a DMACC grad and doesn't really have any ties to any of the big 4. But I'm sure ISU has a rich alum out there somewhere

I lived down there before they closed it in and it was small. And high school-ish. They really screwed themselves when they didn't move it as Gallagher iba sits really close to the field. Their only hope for expansion now is to add a deck above or physically cut into Gallagher iba (which was discussed at one time).

I had dinner in Gallagher Iba last week and I stood on the upper deck balcony that overlooks the football stadium. It's a very strange stadium. Very little room for the players on the sidelines and the suites go all around the top of the horseshoe. Nowhere to expand but straight up.

It would be like bowling in our south end zone and relocating Hilton 10yards north of the north goal post.

If it becomes a problem Boone and his Waste Management and natural gas money will take care of it.

That is a cool view from that end. I know right where you were. I was there during construction on the football stadium. But it is strange because they tried to fit a big time stadium in an out of date old facility. They did a great job. It's beautiful.

It's probably as big as it will ever get.

I really like OSU's stadium. It would be the perfect size for a school like ISU. Crowd also sits right on top of the action.
