Question: Does anyone know of the whereabouts of the runner-up Heisman Trophy that Troy Davis won?
Answer: It is located on top of the beer cooler at the Cross Roads Bar in Rhodes, Iowa!
I guess that Troy was tutored by a girl who now occasionally bartends at the bar, and she decided to display it there with the owner's permission. Troy said that she was the reason that he made it through school, graduated, and was just there for him to talk about things. The bar owners are big Cyclone fans, and would welcome any new or old Cyclone fanatics!

Rhodes is the location of The Harvester on the diagonal northeast of Bondurant.

The Harvester. People play golf there, don't they? People, not including myself. I ventured up there once and instead of playing golf, I played a very long game of Whack-Crap.

    *Whack* Crap!

    *Whack* Crap!

    *Whack* Crap!

Crap soon turned into other descriptive terms...

My hometown of Baxter is getting hosed by The Harvester! They have a Baxter phone number and the Baxter Volunteer Fire Department responds to that location. The lake was originally owned, built by and named for a guy from Baxter (Deutsch), yet they have a Rhodes street address!

Dickson Jensen really built a beautiful course on that property, though it "ate me up" the one and only time I've played it.

I didn't catch that it was a Mitch Hedberg quote, and I only smiled when I read the original post.

After you noted it was a Mitch Hedberg quote, I laughed! I guess anything said in a Hedbergesque way is funnier.

I only golf once a year when we have a group outing for our team at work. The Harvestor was actually the first time I've ever playing a full round on a course. I think my day sounded something like this:

(WARNING: DON'T PLAY WITH THE SOUND UP AT WORK!!!!)

I apologize for answering my own question, but other than my brothers and family, I figured 98% of you CF readers would not know where Rhodes and the bar is located, much less Troy's trophy! Nice little bar in a town of around 250 people. GB

Is the runner up trophy a statue of a guy getting tackled just short of the goal line? That would be worth going up there for a visit for sure.
