The ones in DM are staying open, so you can still get your Monte Cristo fix.

Great! I wish they all would go though. Only been there once and it was the worst food I've ever gotten.

I initially came to this thread to say something smart-mouthed along the lines of "I've never been to Bennigan's and I guess now I never will" but now that I know they have Monte Cristo's, that changes everything. I may single-handedly be able to keep them in business!

Agreed not a fan. Been there twice both times something that was not supposed to be in my food was. And during the second visit I got a pint in an absolutley filthy pint glass. Truly "Waiting" type of stuff, gross!

How does Ponderosa & Bonanza stay open? I guess there is enough WT to keep those places open. Remember the Ground Round?

I've had pretty good experiences there in general. I wonder what will still be open in my area.

Personally, I will be surprised if more places like this don't go under soon. It was relatively pricey and the food was okay, but not great. We have gotten to the point where we hardly ever go out to eat anymore. In most cases, I can find a recipe on line for most resturant's dishes and make a better meal at home. Now if I could just figure out how to collect the tips.

Interesting perspective on why you don't eat out as much however I would surmise most people who eat out at a casual chain restaurant such as this do so to avoid the shopping, preparing, and cleaning up that goes with cooking at home. Like me, they're just lazy

I do agree places could be closing if the economy remains soft.

Funny how you should mention those places and WT... there is a Bonanza right off NE 14th st by my work.

Even funnier- I was taking a motorcycle ride through eastern Iowa on Wednesday, and they still have a Ground Round in IC. :biglaugh:

"Hey kids! Put on your tuxedo t-shirts and comb your mullets! We're going to the Ground Round tonight!"
