I know were just wrapping up this season and proud of our cyclones... but how well do you think iowa state will do next season knowing CFH has good recruits coming in as well? Also knowing west virginia is coming in, will they be effective against teams like iowa state, kansas, and baylor?

We will win 26 games, Clyburn will average 16 ppg and 8 rpg, Lucious will dish out 5 assists per game as well as hit at least one buzzer beater during the year, we will make it to the Big 12 Tournament finals and lose to KU, (damn those Jayhawks)... then we will draw a 5 seed in the NCAA tourney and make it to the sweet sixteen before losing on a controversial shooting foul which results in BS free throws for the other team. You heard it here first

    Next question.....

Why do I get the feeling we are going to have a new thread at least once a week until the new season starts essentially asking the same thing? Football needs to start now!

I think WVU will struggle a bit in adapting to the new conference. While we have four dates on our schedule with teams we haven't seen before, they have 18.

As for ISU, I think we will see a bit of what we saw this year- they may struggle just a bit early as they find their identity as a team, but I expect them to be ready again come conference play.

I actually think we'll see a faster start. We may not go 12-6 in the B12, but I do think we'll see a better OOC schedule, because we'll have a PG to run our offense, rather than a point forward that hasn't played college basketball before.

I feel like it took us pretty much the entire OOC season to work out the kinks and get a feel for a non-traditional offense.

Here is my concern....and im aware the sunshine and rainbows coalition will come in bashing.....but....

Im worried where our scoring is going to come from.

We were blessed to have Scotty and Royce that you could basically give the ball and say "Create of 4, 6, 8 points on your own. We dont really have that next year.
Lucious....not really a dynamic scoring point guard
Babb: Im not sure he can score unless hes wide open
Ejim: Ejim ends a game with nice numbers...but hes not a 'Give me the ball' kinda guy...more of a garbage bucket player
Clyburn: Possibly? but hes an unknown right now....maybe he can...we just dont know
Percy: Ehh...not really, very raw in the post.

Mcgee: Brings great shooting, bench energy, etc....possible could be a good scorer.
Niang ,SDW, Nazzy,Okoro......still going to be young.

I dunno....just a little concerned with how we are going to score on teams, we may look more like a UNI type team next year, very fundamental and crisp in half court sets to get open opposed to a more freestyle team we had this year.

Not that we're guaranteed to exceed last year by any means, but I disagree with many of your points.....

You don't have to be a great scoring PG to impact the game offensively. That's just silly. Lucious can and will get us into our offense and drive/dish effectively. We basically had no penetration ability outside of White to speak of last year, so that's an added dimension. Secondly, we'll be able to run off of turnovers and rebounds because of Lucious so we'll score some fast break points. Again, that was non existent last year because we had no PG to handle the ball and get us up and down the court quickly.

Clyburn isn't proven???? Are you kidding? He was in the top 2 for scoring and rebounding in the MWC two years ago. He can create his own shot. He is good on the break. He can shoot the 3. He's a really good defender.

Percy, was pretty damn good at scoring as a FR. That will be the least of our worries with him. He's good for at least a dozen points if he starts and plays more than 30 min. The only thing that will hold him back from playing time will be defense. If he improves there, you won't have to worry much.

I agree with you that Ejim probably benefited from Royce more than any other player, but he will continue to be an effort/garbage guy that can produce. Hopefully instead of getting nice set ups from RW, it will just be that the pass comes from Lucious instead.

Asumming no added scholarships between now and then I see no reason we can't average something in the neighborhood of the following points per game:

    12- Percy
    4- Booker
    10- Ejim
    16- Clyburn
    6- Lucious
    7- Babb
    7- McGee
    5- Niang
    3- Bubu

    6- Everyone else

Royce wasn't really a scorer in the traditional sense. He was good for 10-15 but created a lot more with assists and rebounds. Thats why he was so special as a player. I could see Clyburn scoring 5 more ppg than Royce easily.

Why can't they start basketball in January, and end it in May or June?
