Impressive; do you suppose Coach Stevens knows Fred's system and players pretty good?

    God I love Hoiberg

  5. Bummer, Chris missed the game winner. Still a solid game for him.

I see Babb took the final shot, out of a time out. I was on game tracker, was it a designed play for him or was it a scramble?

He took and missed the last shot with 1.0 second on the clock and the Celtics lost by 1.

He didn't take a shot, he got stuffed going up for the shot. The ball never left his hands.

He was probably fouled, but the refs knew he was a cyclone and swallowed the whistle...

  10. Thanks for the heads up.

You can't deny Hoiberg's developmental prowess. He knows how to get players ready for the NBA, both mentally and basketballically.

Thanks for the clarification. I was posting blind from the play by play.

Just looking at the box score, it's easy to tell that Babb had quite the night. His 12 points were only one point off from the team high (Phil Pressey had 13 in 28 minutes), but Babb did his damage in just 8 minutes of playing time. Also, his +/- was +20, easily the highest on the Celtics. Hopefully the coaching staff will keep giving him more of a chance to shine.

After this showing, wonder why he was a DNP in their first game?

All indications would be that getting RW stable enough for one basketball season may have been his best work yet.

Philadelphia plays Boston Friday in a preseason game. Hopefully Babb and White get to play against each other for a while. From the Royce article in the other thread it sounds like he may play a bit.

Chris Babb is good enough to be a solid NBA role player.

I don't know if Babb will make a roster this year, but I could see him be like DG and float around for a year and land somewhere. I've never liked the Celtics, but Brad Stevens was my favorite non-Hoiberg college coach, so it would be fun if he could make the team this year.
