A surefire top 5 pick, both teams ranked, big Monday.

Any excuse for the pathetic attendance? Can anyone explain why their fans are so bad right now? Supposed to be one of the best barns in college ball when its full and buzzing, sad really. Its not like they will ever get good attendance again either if they can't support their team when Smart returns for a second year. Just pathetic. Big 12 might be the best conference in basketball too this year OSU fans really embarrassed the conference. There would have been more fans in Waco.

The place was packed. It was just dress like an empty seat night.

I can't imagine how loud that place would've been if it were sold out.

The crowd was great, for what was there.

Their attendance has sucked ever since they blew the lid off the place and doubled capacity. I don't think Stillwater is a 13,000 attendance town for basketball. They should have left it the way it was

Ford should have stayed at UMass if he knew he'd get crowds like this on big monday.

I think OSU & OU attendance for basketball is greatly hurt by the OKC Thunder. When you've got a NBA team within 90 miles of your campus....and their a good NBA team, $$$ people are going with the Pro's.That crowd tonight at OSU was basically students & the Stillwater locals.

I was surprised how many no shows there were...What was old arena like? Didn't it only hold like 7,000 and that is why they expanded it? The place is still loud, but imagine what it would be like if it were sold out?

BTW it was Eddie Sutton Night and less than half were in the seats..That was sad...Eddie looked really old..he was one foot in the grave, one foot in the arena.

Once the Thunder moved to town and Sutton left the attendance went down. This isn't new.

For as tiny as that crowd was, they got very loud. I can't imagine how loud it gets when it's packed

Yeah I thought after the game was over nobody left the building as it still looked it was packed! I guess they couldn't move because they were shocked that they lost. Gotta give them props they pulled off the orange out dress like an empty seat night to a T!!

Same distance to OKC as Ames is to Des Moines.

Although come to think of it I guess stealing Seattle's NBA team and having the best team in the NBA around might hurt college attendance.

Back when IGA bumped on big monday Kevin Durant wasn't playing down the road. Im sure that has a lot to do with it.

Iowa State always seems to have room to rip on other teams for poor fan attendance. It's like our calling card now as fans.

A couple buddies are OSU grads that were at the game. One texted me that there was also ice and snow forecasted for 10 o'clock. And they are bad in the snow down there. Said lots didn't turn out due to that. He said it was embarrassing.

Checked the the radar and they are getting nothing as of now.

I agree but just wanted to point out Stillwater to OKC is almost 70 miles. Twice the distance of Ames to Des Moines. I've made that trip on a couple occasions and it's a much longer drive.

I think that was actually considered a good turnout for them.

Even the local OSU fans hate watching their best player flop all over the court. Give me guys busting their *** and not trying out for a spot on the school drama team to take my personal time & money to come watch and play. That's why it is not full.

I might get ripped for this comment, but if that place is full ISU loses the game.

no rip from me. it's good for us that a top 25 program on big monday can't fill their seats. that's a drag on them, not on our abilities.
