I was on my way to Indianola today and stopped at the Hy-Vee on Army Post to get a few things. I was walking through the candy aisle and this is what I saw.

It's July 28th and they have Halloween candy out. WTF?

Well, you know....there are low hanging fruit and then there are the ones that are so low you hit your head on them while walking under the tree.

It appears from the picture that there is one missing. So, if someone is willing to buy it now it isn't too early.

It's a marketing ploy. Candy always tastes better when it's packaged in Halloween wrappers.

But, what if they used that shelf space for something that people are more likely to buy?

This is nothing - I was at Hobby Lobby in DSM on Saturday and they had all their Christmas stuff out.

As for Halloween candy, they are probably early, but the crazy thing is - people will buy it. They'll be sold out of candy corn early, because all the people will buy it to mix with salted peanuts.

If you're a man, nut punch yourself for being in Hobby Lobby.

When I was in college, we had a little christmas tree in our house that we left up year round. Gotta keep the Christmas spirit around!

Excuse me for taking my 8 year old daughter to get some craft supplies for camp, maybe I should just let her drive herself.

It's like when Barry Bonds used his son to deflect steroid questions.
