Who else threw up listening to Pac 10 commissioner?

Who else threw up watching the Pac 10 commissioner sit with Jerry Jones at the Oregon State vs. TCU game?

Seriously, the man is OVERJOYED at the prospect of destroying Iowa State football. He didn't back down from his jihad of 4 16 team mega conferences rendering anyone on the outside obsolete, his eyes lit up like christmas lights talking about it.

Deleney may be the lead domino, but this guy is just a loaded canon of destruction for ISU/KU/KSU/Baylor/TCU/Boise State/BYU/Cincy and maybe Missouri and Louisville. If the sparkle in his eye reaches fruition these schools will be lucky to ever have 15k fans pay to watch a football game again and be completely irrelevant. Not to mention the other 50 or so FBS teams who currently have an opportunity to improve and become great teams.

But by all means, let's just stay at 10 teams in the Big 12.

Anyone who thinks that is a good idea needs to read the OP very very carefully

So I guess we should go after 6 teams to spread our wealth around?

The point he's making is that the teams that are "doomed," would equal the same amount of teams that are currently in the Big 12

    Thanks...

I agree... Lets stay at 10 and let the big 10 and pac 10 grow into the NFL. They can change their names to AFC and NFC. 16 team conferences in division I football aren't appealing to me, regardless of how it affects ISU football.

First off, if you add the right teams, we could make more money by adding population base.

Secondly, there won't be any wealth much longer if the Big 12 doesn't stop being the punching bag and start being proactive.

Re: Who else threw up listening to Pac 10 commissioner?

Wow seriously?? We need to stay one step ahead of everyone else and if that means by adding teams to the Big 12 (10) im all for it. Who wouldnt be in favor of adding BYU and re-inviting Colorado back the Big 12. Why stop there? We could add Notre Dame and Air-Force to the North and add Arkansas and TCU to the south. I loved the way the conferences were before all this expansion talk and would love to keep everything the same, but if expansion means keeping ISU athletics intact then im all for it and so should all of you!

I will maintain that anyone who thinks it is a good idea to add another team from Texas to this conference...JUST DOESN'T GET IT...on so many levels.

Those teams are all in danger, some would make the 64 cut, some wouldn't.

The existing base conferences aren't going to drop teams that are already in.

The Big 10, ACC, SEC and Pac 10 are clearly "the four" in his plan. The Pac 10 needs to add 4, that would almost assuredly come from our ten. The SEC needs to add 4 that would come from B12 and maybe one from the Big East. The B10 needs to add three that would come from Big East and maybe B12. The ACC needs to add 4 that would come from Big East more than any other raiding that league.

Right now we have 66 teams in the BCS. The 4 leagues he's talking about have 48 and they are the leagues that are growing. ND is in to make 49. They need to add 15 teams and the Big East and Big 12 have 18 teams.

Three BCS teams get screwed in his scenario for sure. BYU, TCU, Boise State, other schools that are good enough to be in a 64 team tournament nearly every year also get screwed. So about 15 teams are at risk (obviously football programs like OU, Tex, WV, A&M are going to land somewhere), and about 6 are going to get royally screwed if this f-face gets his wish. ISU is definitely one of them at risk and probably one that gets screwed.

By adding teams to the Big 12 (10) this keeps Texas uninterested in any other conferences. If by some chance the Texas schools would leave you have a nice foundation of 8 North schools and 3 (possibly 4) south schools to build upon. Let's hear your master plan then if you think that I just don't get it!

If you add another Texas school, you don't add any TV markets, and therefore don't add any TV money to a TV contract. If there isn't anymore TV money, there isn't a real benefit to the existing Big 12, and thus won't happen.

Everything has to be about strengthening our position for the next fallout of this crisis, but we need to be real about how we get there. BYU and Louisville can bring TV markets and competitive sports (at least something of each). Texas schools like TCU can definitely compete, but don't add any TV revenue.

Nobody can underestimate the importance of TV revenue. It's all about TV revenue.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

I think we should kick out two teams and create the Big 8 again. Oh, or EVERY team should go independent and we can have 119 conferences with one school in each conference! Ours would be called the Ninja Conference, because everyone is afraid of ninjas.

When did this interview happen and what was said? Also, last time I checked this DBag came away empy handed after he tried this, so I don't think it is his decision.
