I hope so. I also hope staying at 10 teams doesn't bite this conference in the ***.

“We’re in discussions with them about exiting sooner rather than later,” Beebe said. “I think we would all like to get on with our futures — us, Colorado, and the Pac-10.”

THIS!!! Get Colorado out of here next year

About 3 years to late, but I'll take it.

Re: All Conf Games Televised by 2012?

Too little, too late. I can't stand this fanfare for Beebe now...I really hate the "sit back and react" attitude that has put our conference in a vulnerable position. The Big 12 needs to get their act together and create a cohesive plan instead of these piecemeal favors.

I say this because I'm really not sold that there is anything behind these deals. We have no details! I see his lips moving...but I don't hear any words!

Re: All Conf Games Televised by 2012?

Would the Big 12 schools really have the power to make Colorado play extra road games in '11 if they stay?

Certainly if there's any awkwardness about an 11 team unbalanced schedule for just one season Colorado should be the one getting the shaft.

I would enjoy that, however I remain concerned that staying at 10 is either calculated by certain schools or will become an issue at some point with the other conferences growing, not shrinking.

I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.

I'm concerned about that as well. However, the Big Ten is making mistakes and taking heat for it already.

I would rather see games televised on existing networks instead of creating a conference network that has a lot of garbage between games that costs extra money for the subscriber. Who wants to watch campus programming or shows like the pulse on btn?

I'd like to watch some of that. If I were channel surfing, I would stop on a Big 12 Network to watch some wrestling, track and field, volleyball maybe even soccer if ISU were playing. Studio shows based on Big 12 discussion would be great. So would practice reports and spring game broadcasts. I wouldn't have any interest in what is happening at Baylor or Mizzou academically, but I would probably DVR a show like that about ISU. As for the extra money, I would guess that a network like that would either be part of a sports package (that I would subscribe to) or use the BTN model of forcing it onto basic cable. Probably a moot point as I don't know how they would do it with UT and OU starting their own networks and whether they even are looking at it.

As for the OP, I figured with the way TV is these days, it was only a matter of time before every ISU game was televised in HD. The new TV package would allow ISU to televise games that aren't picked up, so even those games would either be CloneZone or Mediacom Connections. The other thing is that eventually, most TVs are going to be hooked up to the internet. There's going to be no difference between a TV channel and an internet channel. I could even see being able to stream games via the Wii or PS3 through a Netflix.

Doesn't matter, there's more money making all subscribers pay into the pot.

I was told by a source last night that every conference game will be televised as long as we stay a 10 team conference.

Makes sense. Right now, there are 5 TV windows for 6 conference games each week. The problem is that some of those windows are terrible (FCS). I'd like to see more games on ESPN instead of versus or FSN.
