    Game attendance?

Did anybody hear an attendance count from tonight? I don't think they ever announced it.

Hillsides were very bare...couldn't see the upper level of the east side, but the southwest corner was the only non-filled part of the west side.

    Re: Game attendance?

That's funny, because I know I heard the FSN announcers proclaim 50,000 in attendance for the ballgame. Maybe paid attendance vs. actual attendance.... anyone there wish to offer an opinion?

Did they even announce it? It was probably good that they didn't. If the UNI game doesn't get televised, I wonder if it is possible to set another attendance record. Especially if we beat Iowa and K-State.

    Hillsides were bare.

There were 1,000+ seats on the southwest upper deck that weren't full. We only have 43,000 seats, and they weren't all full, and there's no way there were 8,000 on the hillsides.

Capacity is tricky because we list it at 55,000...yet there are 43,000 actual seats.

Hillsides were not bare. Not as full as I've seen them before but definitely not bare. 43000 seems a little low IMO.

When we finish the south endzone this won't be a problem.

For the lack of parking the powers kept lamenting about...there was a nice turnout on a beautiful evening.

ISU won, we recieved national exposure, and the fans had fun.

    Mission accomplished.

    Re: Game attendance?

we won't set any new attendance records (over that 56,700 game vs UNI that we lost in 08) because we renovated the stands and took out some seats after that season.

I don't know what bottle you were looking through when you looked at the hillsides, but they were definitely not bare. I thought the crowd was upbeat for the most part and enjoyed the product on the field. Considering the rain, and everything else, attendance was really good.

The food or lack thereofÖthatís for another thread!

I believe you mean 2007. We didn't play UNI in 2008.

Yeah, they kept repeating that it was a "great crowd over 50,000" during the game.

From the broadcast, it looked like both the far north and south reaches of the upper deck on the east side were missing some fans but that the hillsides were pretty well covered.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

    Re: Game attendance?

Looked good on tv. I thought the crowd was into the game and sounded good. From an outsider good job representing however many were actually there! Hoping you guys get your only loss of the year next week. I'll be rooting for the Cyclones the rest of the way!

Hmm I would've thought a bit higher than that.
