    Question Fanatics

How much better do you feel after tonight's win compared to the first game of last season? I am anxious to read your thoughts.

    Re: Question Fanatics

If Arnaud cleans up some of his mistakes, I feel a LOT better about the team this year. This game wasn't as close as the scoreboard indicated.

Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

I feel really optimistic! We had a few mistakes but they didn't affect the game too much. We need to fix those mistakes and make sure we play strong all 4 quarters because we looked very sluggish in the third. Otherwise great win. Now on to Iowa. GO CYCLONES!

“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads

I dont know. Last year I had no expectations so i was suprised and excited. This year i have much bigger expectations, and was let down by our running game and Arnauds to mistakes.

    Re: Question Fanatics

I'm definately feeling better than I did earlier today. Guys will watch the video and learn from their mistakes. 1st half was amazing (a few mistakes). 3rd quarter had me worried. Knott alone has me excited. He was all over the field.

Nobody was hurt prior to the Iowa game. Better conditioning. Ready to roll.

    Re: Question Fanatics

Last year we beat a NDSU team that was not good. This year, we beat a decent NIU team that will surprise somebody. I feel much better than last year. I am expecting the same level of improvement that we saw game to game last year, which should, if it happens, lead to a bowl win again. I know there were alot of mistakes, but that is what the coaches expected. They said many times, we can only do so much hitting ourselves. We now have seen what happens with the lights on, and the coaches can coach from that. This is where the learning takes place. Films will be viewed by team tomorrow and improvement made. Will we win next week? Not sure, but we will learn alot before then.

    Re: Question Fanatics

The lines worry me a bit. I expected ARob to run wild. The defensive line was giving up 4+ per carry and not getting any pressure. That's concerning.

If our offense is this good looking in the FIRST game, im excited to see how much we improve. I was also surprised with how well we played defensively.

I feel great. That was a really, really good win. That doesn't make any of the rest of them any easier, but I don't think we'll be outclassed (or especially outworked) by many.

    Re: Question Fanatics

Some huge mistakes on offense that almost cost us the game really scares me. 2 huge offensive pass interference calls, a costly PF on the 15 yard line, 2 minutes left in the first half up 17-0 and a pick is thrown on your end of the field, wasn't smart football at all. Plays like those will cost us a lot of games this season. But comparing last year to this year is almost apples and oranges. Last year no expectations at all. This year we have a lot of Kool Aid drinkers so I'd say this game is more troublesome. Some great signs but a lot of people have very high expectations for this season. I'll be ecstatic if we get 6 or 7, but I do think there is a reason we were picked last in the North.
