    Those Extra 800 Season Tickets

This has been a subject that I've been wondering about. There are 7.800 student season tickets for sale. Many people are assuming those tickets will be sold out. Were they last year? I keep wanting to think we sold 6,300 or so student season tickets last year. Can someone give me a number? 6,300 is the one sticking in my head, but I don't think we can assume the students sell all the tickets unless I've missed something. Either way, I'd like to know if for no other reason.

That is a good question, I am also interested if anyone else remembers how many student season tickets were sold last year. But I think that we should at least sell 7,000 season tickets because of the increased excitement that is around Chizik.

Re: Those Extra 800 Season Tickets

I believe there were 7000 student season FB tickets last year and they were sold out. With Section "O" becoming part of the NCC sections, the students were given an additional 800 seats for the upcoming season. However, as I understand it, ISU has only counted the 7000 as sold for the upcoming season. That is what I recall.

I could be wrong - usually am in these things.

But as I recall, ISU sold it's entire student alotment last year of 7K tickets. The season ticket total is assuming the sale of those same 7K. But the alotment was upped this year to 7800, part of the deal that gives the AD back some prime seating, namely section 0 and the entire sections down below become students.

So the remaining 800 are part of the new alotment, and ISU won't claim victory on them until they are in fact sold.

Well, DaddyMac, we could be wrong, but at least we have our story straight!!!

I too believe that it was around 6300 ballpark for student season tickets sold last year. I also remember selling the lot of them the year before. With the U of I coming to town this fall, I can almost guarantee that we will sell the lot this year as well. Just my opinion.

Re: Those Extra 800 Season Tickets

7000 was the allottment last year, and I think they ended up selling 21 more season tickets than the allottment somehow. Many of my buds that tried to buy student tickets on an individual basis were turned down because there weren't any to sell them.

Re: Those Extra 800 Season Tickets

The original 7000 were sold out last year and the AD released some additional student tickets but only a few dozen sold from what I was told. They expect the 7000 to go again with ease and the extra 800 are alloted to ensure everyone who wants one ........ gets one. They will only be counted AS they are sold.
