    Your Ideal Tailgating Vehicle

Just wondering what everyone's ideal tailgating vehicle would be. I'm not talking about a 300k tour bus or anything like that but something that you could afford and would be practical for all games.

Currently we have an old school bus all fixed up and it gets to be a pain in the *** at times. Half the time we don't have enough people to justify the bus and it only goes top speed of 55 mph so road games take a while to get to.

If I were to ever do one again I would like to do something with a mid 80s 3/4 ton suburban. You could fix it up for fairly cheap, it will hold 8-9 people and still have plenty of room for stuff in the back. Put a small lift kit on it, a custom paint job, storage rack on top for coolers, bag games etc, and a flip down TV in the back with the doors open and I think it would be a sweet tailgating machine. Something similar to the picture but with ISU paint job. I have already been looking for the right suburban just need to get my wifes approval

So what would be your ideal vehicle that you could put together with some expendable income with your buddies?

You may have to look down south for a vehicle like that to find a body that is in decent shape, unless you don't mind a little bondo work.

Both at the same time, but like you said; with wife's approval of course.

There are alot of high mileage ones with good bodies in the vegas area.

Man that last statement just sounds wrong.

I always think this topic would have made a great episode of Pimp my ride.

I've had many conversations on this topic included in the whole "what would you do if you won the lottery" talks.

Been kicking this around too. I like the Suburban/Tahoe XL, with a lift hatch for shade/rain and sunblock to reduce glare on 42"flatty powered by inverter and extra battery/r small genie. Probably a hitch carrier for coolers. White with a ton of ISU magnets for graphics!

An old suburban would be good. Nothing that's bigger than a parking space. I think I would lean towards a cargo van that's got the back emptied out. Than you could add flat screens, sound system, kegs, etc.

    Re: Your Ideal Tailgating Vehicle

We have an old 1977 RV that still has the original orange shag carpet. We've updated the sound system and redid the curtains and seat colors although they decided to change the colors and logo on us just a year later so it's outdated now!

It's fun to have but I won't lie, those older RVs can be a pain to maintain sometimes. Many a curse words have been said since we'd had it but in the end we still get a lot of enjoyment out of it when we bring it to tailgate.

Is that pic you or Geronimus? Because that's kind of how I picture him looking.

On the topic of tailgating vehicles,

Imagine that with a flatscreen folded into the trunk. But painted like the cyclone toyota truck.

That's exactly why I was leaning towards a suburban. Our bus is huge and takes up way to much space for sometimes only 10 people. Plus getting it in and out of parking spots takes an act of god and a 150 point turn.
