Re: Transcript: Rhoads 8-30 Press Conference

A couple of quotes (of many) that I loved.

"To answer your question, yeah I think that TB and Leonard are both poised to have excellent junior campaigns, as they should be. Anytime that you have been playing that long, you are in a program that’s building block is developing players, I think that they should be in that position going into their junior year."

That one reinforces that point that he EXPECTS his players to get better.

" If I can’t maintain the focus of my football team for whoever we play in our first game then the administration should look twice about having me in this chair."

I like that quote for so many reasons. He has a lot of the same coach speak as other coaches, but it all seems so much more genuine with CPR.

    Can't wait for Thursday.

    Wonderfully non-Chizik-esque

Rhoads does such a great job with these interviews. He is such a straight-shooter. He is the anti-Chizik. Chizik seemed to work so hard to say as absolutely little as possible in these situations. You actually know where things stand with Rhoads. It isnít really a secret that we are thin at linebacker, so say so. Rather than being on our guard to try to hide things, it seems that our players and coaches are doing a much better job of thinking (and talking) real football.

Re: Transcript: Rhoads 8-30 Press Conference

It sounds like CPR must think we have the DBs to do some press coverage this year. I really like this. Lets rough up the other teams WRs and grab them so they can't get off the line, push them off their routes. There were a number of teams that did this to ISU the last couple of years and it really worked well for them. Plus they almost never got called for it.

Re: Transcript: Rhoads 8-30 Press Conference

This may be a stupid question, but how many minutes/games can a player play in on season and still redshirt? I was just wondering in case we wanted to redshirt some of our players that may see the field Thursday night.
