Does anybody here watch "Mad Men"?

I've never seen an episode myself, but considering all of the critical hype it gets and all the awards it wins every single year at the Emmy's, I'm thinking it might be worth it to check out Season 1 on DVD here soon.

Do any Cyclone Fanatics watch it?

I have watched a couple and really didnt get into it. thought it was kinda slow and boring.

Then again I might not have given it enough time.

Watched the whole series. Love it. I would recommend starting at the beginning of the series as the character development and relationships are fairly important and it may seem boring if you just start watching in the middle of this season. You would still be able to follow the episode it just wouldn't be nearly as interesting and may seem pretty slow.

Agreed - it wouldn't make much sense to you if you started in the middle of the series. I enjoy the show and think the story is good, but wouldn't describe it as "can't miss" television.

I love Madmen..... I remember when I used to smoke that much. Sure does show how our opinions of women and civil rights have changed.

Re: Does anybody here watch "Mad Men"?

Such a great show. I also recommend watching from the beginning and the DVD's would be a great way to go since you can watch a bunch of episodes in a row and not lose interest.

    It's so well written.

Re: Does anybody here watch "Mad Men"?

Definitely start at the beginning or none of the subtle nuances will make any sense. Definitely one of my favorite shows, but behind Breaking Bad. I typically only watch HBO and Showtime (almost all their TV series are excellent with the exception of Hung...), but A&E has done an incredible job of putting out great quality television. Consider me a huge fan. Has anyone seen Rubicon yet?

I have not seen Mad Men, but I have to agree on the acclaim for Breaking Bad. Luckily Mrs. Velo and I started watching from the first episode. Bryan Cranston appeared genuinely embarrassed to win 3 best actor awards in a row, but IMO, he deserves them all.

Mad Men is king. The writing, character development and set design are top-notch. Definitely worth checking out.

Re: Does anybody here watch "Mad Men"?

I have seen them all, I love it, and it is amazing that except for the korean episode and peter's .22, you have a drama winning best drama all without gun imagery or gun violence. Take THAT, crappy cbs programming!

Every character has flaws and redemption- it is awesome development.

Season 3 is the best, 4 took a new direction and is picking up where 3 left off.
