    Car time-capsule unearthed

Neat story on MSNBC about a Belvedere that was buried in 1957 in Tulsa.

Got a special kick out of the sundries buried with it

"Also buried with it were 10 gallons of gasoline — in case internal combustion engines became obsolete by 2007a case of beer, and the contents of a typical woman’s handbag placed in the glove compartment: 14 bobby pins, a bottle of tranquilizers, a lipstick, a pack of gum, tissues, a pack of cigarettes, matches and $2.43."

That was a pretty interesting article thanks! I would make a comment about how women should still carry tranquilizers with them, but then this would degrade into one of yesterdays threads.

Screw that.......let the men carry tranquilizers with dart guns so we can settle them down when we need to.

Didn't see the story on MSNBC. I was at the unveiling of the car and it was a complete rustbucket. Everyone knew it was going to be ugly when they pulled the cap off the time capsule and found 2-3 feet of standing water.

The car was ruined but there was a separate time capsule, that looked like a big gas cylinder, with the car and the contents were in pristine condition.

People traveled from all over the world to see this. Saw some people form the Mid-Iowa Plymouth Club.

I was waiting for a joke about your Hawkeye neighbor finally mowing his lawn. . .
