    Storm PlayOff Strategy?

I guess I am biased but I don't get why winning by double digits and you play your star point guard almost the whole game. Many have discussed this, Voepel and VanLengen have both been very critical of this the whole season, now we will see if it has an effect come championship time.

    Re: Storm PlayOff Strategy?

I have the same sentiment too.
But on the other hand, I read an article about the Storm and Agler said that there are no developmental plans for Lacey and Abby Bishop beyond this season. Does that mean that Agler doesn't see them as long-term investments ?
Sometimes I'm thinking , would Lacey be better drafted by another team that gives her playing time (although the team sucks) or by the Storm ? Obviously she can learn a lot from Bird (and players like Jackson, Cash and Sveti) but on the other hand, she has garbage minutes so far (largely because of the presence of Bird and Sveti who can also play PG and on the wing)

    Re: Storm PlayOff Strategy?

Seattle is so deep it must be humbling Lacey to be in the position she finds herself. For instance players like Abrosimova not starting is amazing.

But, Fennelly would not coach this way. I doubt holding the colts and letting the other horse run when there is no reason to do so makes any sense to anyone but Agler.

The Storm is presented as a family-orientated franchise with lots of kids stuff and the like. Maybe wining big with the stars is seen as family entertainment.

Why earlier this month the storm set a record for largest averse win margin:

I thought Aus was going back home after the season gets over. So why would they bother to develop her?

She signed a 2-year contract I believe. She's going home to play in Australia, but the season is different from WNBA's (Lauren Jackson also played in Australia during the past off-season) and I think Lacey might want to play in the WNBA, which is still the highest-profile WBB league despite the compensation is lower than European League (especially Russian clubs)

Off season Lacey will play in the Australia. Alison will be back with The Storm next season unless something happens.

Further reading sees that Storm Coach Agler did try to rest the top players recently resulting in a lose and a threat to do so:

With one Championship win in Storm history maybe he is taking no chances.

Lacey and Bishop played 9 minutes and 11 minutes respectively last Friday. Lacey got another three. I expect both Lacey and Bishop will get more experience playing back in Australia this fall/winter (well spring/summer down under!).

    Re: Storm PlayOff Strategy?

Lacey's game has improved already while only watching Sue Bird, if she doesn't get a contract to go back to Seattle, I can see her getting picked up by Chicago or Minnesota, because of the fans she brings out, or maybe the Stars...
