Indiana Head coach taking a year off

I don't want to sound cold here but this guy needs to retire until he get's his illness under control. He is handcuffing Indiana. What recruit would go there not knowing if the coach is going to come back or die or something. It's a bad situation and I do feel bad for Terry H. but he has to step down. Then when he get's better he can get a new coaching job somewhere else. Your thoughts

Re: Indiana Head coach taking a year off

I saw that a bit ago.

What was a little more interesting, I think it was a few weeks back - I saw an article on ESPN where the Indiana AD was basically publicly speaking to Terry - saying they were in a tough spot and wanted to move forward. Something along that line.

I certainly wouldn't want to be in the AD's shoes or the shoes of the guy filling in for Terry. As you said, it is a very tough situation.

No matter what the AD does, it's wrong. Let Terry go and he's a cold-hearted *****. Keep him around with the open door when he's healthy and you're holding your program back.

He needs to be employed to be covered by insurance, but I agree he should step down and take an administrative position or something.

Too bad for him. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

He had turned the corner with Indiana but now I would bet that all of that progress goes away.

Re: Indiana Head coach taking a year off

I think right now they're trying to decide which decision causes the least "long-term" damage - hiring a stand-in for a guy that's changed the outlook of Indiana football while he gets healthy or start over again with a new guy. I wouldn't want to have to make that decision.
