No son of mine plays Oregon Trail like that

Depending on what age group you fall into, this is pretty darn funny.

Shoot one buffalo with one bullet.
Take 200 pounds of meat back to the wagon.
Leave the other 700 pounds to rot.
    Repeat.

A couple of guys I used to work with spent an obscene amount of time trying to see if Oregon Trail was Y2K compliant. Had a separate computer dedicated to it. They wrote a little program that would automatically hit "enter" for them, set their ration's to meager, and just rested. It took a long time, but if I recal correctly, the game has problems when you hit the year 1900. I think it just rolled over to 18100.

Am I the only one who had to go hunting with what appeared to be buck-shot?

I found that rather inefficient for larger game...

Sort of a Oregon Trail meets Buck Rodgers storyline there..

I remember that from the ol' monochrome Apple II (c/e/gs).

Does anybody remember playing a game called Kegger-Cocktail Party? It was a game trying to show kids not to drink and drive. In the game, you would state your sex, how much you weigh, when you last ate, and probably a couple other things. You would then start "drinking" beer, cocktails or shots. Then you would attempt to drive home and have to try to avoid oncoming traffic and keep the car on the road.

I was more of a Dope Wars (the old DOS version) and Happy Weed guy.

I was more of a Jeopardy fan. In Final Jeopardy bet -$1,000,000 and tank the question. Instant win.

Sad to say, but if someone made this movie, I would probably watch it. So much nostalgia for Oregon Trail.

ISU made me play this game when I got an MIP tailgating my freshman year.

Until you pay him to help you cross the river. Then he's cool with it.
