    LED TV

Anyone have experience with one of these yet? I am getting annoyed with my bigscreen and am considering getting a new one. I was at best buy for something else and thought I would just take a look and see what they had when I saw this tv:

    Amazon.com: Sharp LC-60LE810UN 60-inch 1080p 120Hz LED Edge-lit LCD HDTV: Electronics

It looked really nice and had a high waf value (wife acceptance factor). Anyone else have one of these types of TVs yet?

Don't have one, but the LED looked really nice compared to the LCD's I was looking at in Best Buy late last year.

From what I can tell, LED is just a different way of lighting an LCD. At least I think that is how it works.

Correct. It is still an LCD display. The display itself is exactly the same as an "LCD" display. The backlight uses LED bulbs (like an LED flashlight) instead of the flourescent bulbs that normal "LCD" displays uses.

Would think you'd never need to worry about a bulb burning out and energy use should be less?

    Re: LED TV

We've got an LED in our living room and LED >>> Plasma or LCD in my opinion. Everything is MUCH more crisp and true colors.

    Re: LED TV

My uncle just got a 65" Panasonic S2 Plasma and I think it is the most beautiful TV I have ever seen blows my older Panasonic Plasma out of the water. He also has a smaller 55" LED LCD that he bought last year and the colors are better on the Plasma than the LED but it isn't a big difference. I don't really think you can make a wrong decision between the 2

Yeah I saw that tv also. I am replacing a 60", so I would not mind going to a 65... I may have to look closer of course the one issue is it will be in a room with lots of windows, so I will have to look at the reflectiveness of each.

    Re: LED TV

Would stay away from plasma for the pure fact you can still get burn in on the screen with plasma. While the color is slightly more vibrant with plasma, most cannot tell a difference and with the risk of burn in, I'd stick to LED/LCD.
