    Fantasy football draft question

First off, some background about how my league works with keepers; we can keep up to two players for a maximum of three seasons that were originally drafted after the 3rd round. For this season I will be keeping Chris Johnson (was smart and/or lucky enough to draft him in the 5th round in '08), and Steve Smith of the Giants (was smart and/or lucky enough) to draft him in the 12th round last year.

I was runner-up in my league last season, so I will be drafting 11th out of 12 in the first round, and since it is a "snake" draft, I will have the 14th pick coming back around in the 2nd round. I am leaning towards drafting the best available wide receiver/running back combo with those first two picks and waiting for a QB until the 3rd round (pick #35 overall), but now I am wondering if I should go ahead and just draft the best WR available in the 1st round and then get a top-level QB with my 2nd pick and wait until the 3rd round to get another RB.

What say you, fellow football fantasy owners?

    Re: Fantasy football draft question

I ponder the same question each year. I think if i were you i would wait until round 3 for the QB and grab the top WR/RB combo early.

If Brees, Manning, or Rodgers are available I take them with your second pick. If all those guys are gone... wait on a QB until later.

IMHO those three QB's can't be passed up on in your given situation...

    Re: Fantasy football draft question

There are only about 7 top flight quarterbacks. If you feel confident that one will fall to the end of the 3rd round then wait other wise I would grab the best QB/WR combo and grab a running back later.
