    RB Retention and Recruiting

Is it just me, or does it seem as like, if Hollis and Johnson jump onto the depth chart as true freshmen, that some of the other backs might transfer? I guess that brings new import to this season's RB recruiting--especially with ARob completing his eligibility!

As soon as we have any depth and competition at a postion developing, it is immediately followed by a "who is gonna transfer" thread

Sadly this is what college sports have developed in to. Transfer rules make it so easy for players to jump ship.

Depend who is on the outside looking in, White and Blankinship I could see maybe, I don't know though, the team seems really tight. IMO, Woody and Williams size would be nice for LB depth..... just saying..... I see Bo ending up Medical Redshirt. It will be interesting.

Its really a good sign if you think about it. Our program is growing and we are attracting better players. The best will play, feelings may be hurt but its just part of the game.

Great problem to have, if there is one.

I missed this, when did Bo get hurt? I don't believe he can get a med RS if he already sat out his year for the transfer penalty. Even if he could I have a feeling he'd want to get on with his life.

He could probably get a waiver from the NCAA for the sixth year. This stems back from his concussion issue that he had this spring.

    Re: RB Retention and Recruiting

most db's and linebackers were rb's in hs, some of these guys go to a program like ISU bc they give them the option of playing rb, but they understand a position switch might happen. I could see this being the scenario with these guys. But you can never have to many good rb's.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

And minor knee surgery, hence why he is not practicing yet....

    Re: RB Retention and Recruiting

If they are not on the 3 deep at ISU, how much will they add to the future of the program? Nothing against these guys but when was the last time ISU had a legit DI 3rd back let alone 4th and 5th back? Maybe they can find another spot for them to play. Also is not like CPR as lost a pile of players to trasfer, lets allow him to worry about this and it is his job to keep these players in the program.

cant be worried about it...you always try to recruit over your exsisting players...if you don't you are going backwards...
