    Hilton...

This might have been discussed but... Is the basketball floor designed to float? Im just curious. The fiancee thought it was designed that way so in case flooding happened again in Hilton the floor wouldnt have to be replaced but just cleaned. Any input.....

I think he means does the subfloor float to preserve the wood, not whether or not wood floats.

It floats to allow for natural expansion and contraction of wood. Floating in water ruins it.

    Re: Hilton...

The floor is not connected to anything like the ground. It just sits there under its own weight. When putting it in you line one side then weight it and slide all the other pieces in.

Floor goes today. Its in piles, all warped, and such a mess.

Everything is almost gutted and ready to be loaded onto dump trucks to be taken away as of 6 am today.

i feel like I would buy a piece of the floor if they offered it, rather than just sending it to the dump.

    Re: Hilton...

With a new floor coming in, I wonder if we'll see an "interesting" paint scheme for it this year. It's been kinda bland the last several years...

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

    Re: Hilton...

SO how many CFers will be following the truck to go dumpster diving (or dump diving?) to fish out hunks of discarded court?

    Re: Hilton...

I'm pretty sure the actual basketball floor wasn't down when the flooding hit. Doesn't mean it was saved but unless it's basketball season, that floor is hardly in place.

It was down because the volleyball team was practicing on it.
