ISU Foundation sets up Flood Relief Fund

For those that would like to help out. Appears you can donate anywhere from $10 on up.

Not to deter anything, but I don't trust the ISU Foundation. I worked for them for a week. You're given a specific program you're supposed to raise for. If someone wants to donate to something else, you tell them you do that, but then put it toward whatever you're trying to raise money for instead. Really shady. Hopefully things have changed since then and maybe it was just the result of bad management there? Either way, I'll still make donations in my own way, not through them.

Re: ISU Foundation sets up Flood Relief Fund

I've had a lot of experience with the Iowa State Foundation. I've worked for them and trust them. I'll be donating.

There's not a way to "do it on your own." Development "fund-raising" is handled by the Foundation.

I worked in the phone center for several years. I know of their "Greater University Fund for Excellence" a general fuzzy multi-purpose fund.

I was called by them in May for a general donation to the LAS college, and I told them that I'd only give money to the history department and that I wanted a written confirmation from the department chair that they had received my gift and appropriated it as I directed. I got a prompt call from the Foundation and a letter from the History Department Chair.

Tell them where you want it, and you want a confirmation that it's used that way. They will honor your request.

For some reason, I think your credibility could be called into question.

I quit because I didn't feel comfortable or find it appropriate doing what I previously talked about.

Like I said, maybe it was just a sleaze that was training us?
