    Re: Flight Attendant's Story Unravels

i think people see him as the real life version of Stone Cold steve Austin: a guy who gives c..p to authority: bosses, people he doesn't like, etc. And I can understand that: I had good bosses and bad bosses, good customers and bad customers but in the end of the day, if you're in service industry, the first thing you need to remember is the customer is always right.

To a point, but not exactly. Some folks go beyond being a customer. In most cases though, you have to be able to separate from the situation in your head and take it out elsewhere in a constructive manor.

With new evidence about having alcohol or whatever, he is completely in the wrong if proven.

I agree and sometimes you know that they are not customers but some a..h....s (a friend of mine used to work at a dept store and one old lady once refunded an EMPTY bottle of perfume, saying she didn't like the smell. My friend went to her supervisor and the supervisor told her that the lady could return it - this before the place implemented a strict return policy).

And like you say, he has to be able to control himself and if things get out of his hands, he can always report to the higher authority.

Even though it sounds like he was the instigator and not some rude customer?

I would support him if his story was true, but it sounds like he was rude and started the whole thing.

Working at a grocery store bank branch can teach you that quickly.

I totally agree. As many times as I have wanted to go out in a blaze of glory like he did I can respect him for actually doing it. The charges against him are a stretch at best. They charged him for hypothetically endangering people... Really? Did he hurt anyone? No. As a person that has flown many times I can tell you that as a passenger on a plane there have been more then a few times when I have wanted to punch another passenger right in the suckhole for being a-holes to the flight crew or to other passengers. Sorry... air travel is a stressful thing but especially for the people that work and have to deal with these a-holes every single day. I applaud the guy.

Companies/Corp. do not want a story like this true or embellished to make Slater's actions heroic.

    Re: Flight Attendant's Story Unravels

My mom is a flight attendant and she said every flight attendant has wanted to do this at some point to some rude passangers. He just got fed up and actually decided to do it. Good for him.
