    Honeymoon Thoughts

Don't mean to change the subject from flooding, but I am looking for some input on Cape Canaveral, Florida. This coming Tuesday, I will be flying to Melbourne, Florida for my honeymoon and was thinking about renting a car and driving to NASA. Has anyone been there before or heard if it is worth the time and money to go? Also, if anyone is familiar with the Melbourne area, and has any suggestions for me to do while down there, please let me know. Thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the recent flooding. Thanks

DEFINITELY worth the time. I had a blast when we were down there in 2007. Watch out for the alligators though.

It has been about 10-12 years ago that I was down at NASA and they had a lot of really cool stuff down there. Lot of tours and exhibits but they also had a pretty cool IMAX movie even back then. I would say its definitely worth the trip. Something I'll personally never forget

Another problem I am having, is renting a car. Being that I am only 22, they want to charge that extra "underage" fee. Has anyone had any success with dropping that fee, or have any cheaper alternatives to get to Cape Canaveral from Melbourne.

Having been there a long time ago, make sure you take a camera. you won't BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE IN SIZE OF ROCKETS NEXT TO A PICKUP. A FULL SIZED PICKUP LOOKS LIKE A MATCHBOX TOY ALONG SIDE OF THE ROCKETS. EVERYTHING ELSE FOR THE ROCKETS IS ON THE SAME SCALE...LOTS TO SEE AND VISIT.

Try a rental car location not at an airport, especially Enterprise, they may not chanrge that fee, also was at Kennedy Space Center this June it was really neat, we had a VIP tour given to us By John McBride ( Retired Astronaut) and then had dinner under a mercury rocket, the whole event was awesome.

Haven't been there in 15 years or so, but NASA has (had) two tours, the Space Shuttle-oriented tour, and a history-oriented tour. Both are good.
