    Slower Internet Due To Floods

Anyone else having this issue? I can't even get over .5 MB/s up or down. The only reason I can think of this happening is the flooding.

I'm having issues too, but I'm sure its not because of the flooding, since I'm in Tulsa.

I just got my own place, internet, the whole shabang...I was curious, what is considered normal for high speed internet? I just did the online speed test, came back with about 5.5MB download and 1 upload

No offense, but to you and the OP in the football forum who started a thread worrying about not being able to tailgate on 9/2, isn't there more important issues to worry about in Ames right now?

I may not be a ISU fan, but I saw a CF tweet that was retweeted by Matt Perralut who I follow in Twitter that sums the situation up quite well:

Great comments from Tom Kroechell to keep the flood in perspective. This is a central Iowa problem. Not an ISU problem
I live less than 20 miles from the south side of Ames and my heart goes out to those who've been impacted by the flooding in Ames, Colfax, and along 4 Mile Creek on Des Moines' east side.

Yeah but this is an ISU message board and the whole point of it is to talk back and forth about things going on around the area.. Should we solely debate the political and economical ramifications this may have on Central Iowa over the next decade?? Everybody is thinking about the people affected by the flooding and hopes all goes well but there isn't much you'll do about it posting on a message board.

I was just asking if it was happening to other people, I just moved into my apartment and I was wondering if my internet would always do this or it was just the flooding. Grow up.

Dude, i'm 37 years old and have had to use 2 sick days this week because of an ill child and that's on top of being short handed in my dept at work because of layoffs and previously scheduled vacations. Judging by your year of "2013", you're the one who needs to grow up.

BTW, my wife just started a new job a few weeks ago after being laid off from her old job in late February and therefore, she has no PTO to use. Therefore, your complaining of "slow internet speeds" when your fellow Ames residents have lost more than high speed internet is pretty petty to me.

Dude, how am I supposed to know about your problems? Everybody has problems, don't take it out on me, or anyone else for that matter.

It was a simple question to people for feedback, if you don't have any useful input, don't respond.

Given your year of "2013", you should stop and think before you tell someone to "grow up". Your Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace pages won't go away if you have limited access for a few days.

Openly complaining about slow internet speeds is pretty petty if you ask me
