    Stunning KU statistic

I was going through my Phil Steele last night, and was giving KU a close look to see exactly what they return.

They have 2 players coming back who scored, and between the 2 there was a combined 11 touchdowns last year.

Toben Opurum, who scored 10 of those 11 TDs is apparently a huge question mark right now, with injuries. KU might be returning a single offensive TD coming into this season if Opurum is out. Maybe I'm nuts, but that seems shockingly low.

ISU, on the other hand, returns 31 offensive TDs.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

That is low, so I got to thinking. I bet Michigan didn't return many more than that after Henne, Hart, Manningham, Arrington, and Mallett all left. I bet this happens more than we know. In any case, that is reason to worry.

    Or so I have read.

So that is why everyone seems to be picking them to finish 3rd in the North coming off of a 1-7 record in the conference last year. Now it makes sense.

Exhibit A for doing away with pre-season predictions.

I'd rep you but I have to "spread it around". Who knew?!

Preseason polls are absolutely stupid. If you are going to make the rankings a third of the formula for who makes the BCS title game, BCS bowl rankings etc.... then you shouldn't rank teams until they have played around 4 to 6 games. There are some good teams ranked outside of the top 10 or 15 that could have a legit shot at competing for the national title but if they start ranked too low then they will never make it there. Basically it takes away the fact that all teams should start the season with a level playing field. It is just another way that the haves can stick it to the have nots.

    Re: Stunning KU statistic

opurum is a very good running back. he is the type of back that you need in the red zone. turnip gill will run the nebraska option running attack.i think paul rhoads will own snyder and gill this year and if we r successful in doing that,i think our recruiting will pick up in kansas and in kansas city.we need to establish that recruiting pipe line again.it has been down for years.there r some good footballers in kansas city. we need to stop gill, snyder and ole pinkel baby at mizzou and be the kingpin in kansas and missouri for recruiting.

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

A 45-3 score would suffice. There was a youtube video about Paul Rhoads 1st spring here and ISU putting an add out for football tryouts. This KU bozo ripped ISU everyway possible for that, and suggested ISU be kicked out of the B12. Glad this moron knows his KU football history....when it wasn't that long ago they went 0-8 in B123 play.

Also funny how his beloved Kansas was almost shipped to the MWC. Glad he got to see Ku win their bowl game last year...oh wait.

Tons of info and stats, but some of picks/predictions are a bit wacky/inconsistent. He picks CU to be the Big 12 surprise team every year. Can't wait to see them go 4-8/5-7 and him pick them to surprise the Pac 12 next year.

This is why I really hope Gill is given some slack. He's yet to prove he can build a team, most of his studs at Buffalo were there before he got there. He's proven he can win with guys he didn't recruit but he's going to have to show he can bring in his own guys and be competitive.
