    Yet another computer question

So I've downloaded the newest Avast and have the registration key and everything, but apparently I have some virus that is blocking me from opening up Avast to finish its installation. So I figured I could just do it in safe mode.

Well, my computer doesn't recognize hitting 'F8' when it starts up so I have to go through the msconfig command to get into safe mode. This virus is now blocking that command. Any other tips to get into safe mode? TIA

    Re: Yet another computer question

Try ripping off the power cord. Then next time it starts up you get the open to start normal or in safe mode and you pick by using the arrow keys and pressing enter
