    football or basketball?

With the top football player in the country (Terrelle Pryor) also being the #27 ranked basketball player in the country. It got me thinking if you were a two sport star which would you choose. Would you choose the sport your better at? which sport You have a better chance at being a pro at. Less risk for injury. Or making more money in that pro sport. or even academics. Greg Pualus a couple years ago (who plays basketball at duke) was the #2 rated quarterback in the country and #11 overall for basketball. And he choose basketball. I think it would depend on which coaching staff i liked better and which sport I had a better chance of succeeding at. I love both so it would be hard for me.

For me it would be football, but it would be very difficult to choose.

    Re: football or basketball?

    I'd say basketball...

more games (30 vs 13) = more potential for exposure!!

Plus less toll on the body. Pros in basketball typically have longer careers.

Agreed. Although its easier to get drafted into the NFL than the NBA. But there are also a lot more players.

Simple, basketball. Ask Fred Hoiberg, he made the same decision.

But you can still make good money oversees in basketball if you don't make it in the NBA. The NFL does not have another option.

    Re: football or basketball?

I love college basketball so would be a no brainer to me. I think I enjoy the football more because of the tailgating beforehand and I do like to watch football but basketball to me is just more fun to watch because there is constant action going on.

    Re: football or basketball?

I had hundreds of scholarship offers coming out of high school for both football and basketball, but I decided to sell flooring instead. I would choose basketball, mainly because that was my sport.

    Re: football or basketball?

Basketball. Why? I like football better. But basketball players have more of the summer off. My first love is summertime. No amount of athletics/money will change that.

Wait, money can buy you summer all year round

It's hard since the seasons overlap, but Chief's TE Tony Gonzalez tried out for the Miami Heat.

    Re: football or basketball?

Well, I think all seasons overlap.. There is certainly overlap between NFL and MLB seasons but there have been many athletes do both of them... Tony Gonzalez is a HUGE suprise... of all people who would try both... wow... Maybe basketball players only like to work their season then do it big with their entourage the rest of the year..........................
