    Music these days

I'm officially old. Who the hell are these people on Itunes top 10 and why does their music suck so bad?

Taio Cruz, Mike Posner, Jason Derulo, Enrique Iglesis, etc.

One of them was actually sampling All Night Long by Lionel Richie. WTF

Looks like the tailgating playlist isn't going to change much from last year. A lot of Jack White and old stuff. Any recommendations on new songs?

    Re: Music these days

the reason for music being bad is that there aren't any more small radio stations that play music they want. Most radio stations are owned by a couple huge corporations that get paid by the record companies to play there new "artist".

as far as good music these days stick with Mumford and Sons, they are going to try and save music.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

I very rarely listen to the radio anymore. I rely on you guys and Slacker to find new music.

    Re: Music these days

Most music is crap because everyone fits into 2 category's. The first one is the teenage that listens to KISS FM. THe popular overproduced garbage like Katie Perry, Lady Gag, and Britney.
The second group is the "we listen to bands nobody has ever heard of" group. They like to tell everyone about some band that nobody has heard of even though they suck. It's a superiority thing. These people are the same type of people who drive Prius cars so they can act like the enviroment has turned around because of there stupid ugly little cars.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

    Re: Music these days

Also, I feel like if you look just at the Top 10 singles on Itunes, you will always just see "Pop" songs that are mostly like the songs played on Kiss FM.. Doesn't necessarily mean those are the best songs out.

    Re: Music these days

I can't stand to listen to Top 40 music these days, it sucks and a lot of it all sounds the same anymore. Was actually going through some of my mp3's last night listening to music from the late 90's early 00's and I'd still rather listen to that stuff than the crap you hear on stations like 107.5 these days.

    Re: Music these days

If you look at the top music from any year it's always stuff that never lasts. Look at the top songs in the 70s - sure, there was Led Zepplin. But there was a lot, a LOT of crap too.

Over/Under on how long it takes for Al to post in this thread? Or Tarbox?

Going by your list of stuff you like, check out Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Let me know what you think.

Knownothing has now introduced his 101st and 102nd "guy"s. Basically, if he doesn't agree with everything you do then you are one of those "guy"s.
