KU prize recruit may not be eligible

Josh Selby, top recruit for KU, not cleared because of questionable amatuer status. Association with Carmelo's business agent. I'm sure Kansas will get this all straightened out, but at least they are making them squirm a little.

Well KU isn't ISU, so they won't get screwed over by the NCAA. Expect to see him next year.

    Crying shame.

Nah, he's going to KU...I'm sure this will blow over and he'll be able to play. Now if he were at ISU....he would be screwed.

This is not gonna help with the extra tickets they have to sell.
In a related story, any word on the search for a new AD?

    One Name: Brandon Rush

He wasn't cleared until 30 seconds before their first game.

KU will be fine. NCAA will not cut up the sacred cow.

Re: KU prize recruit may not be eligible

Enes Kanter Kentucky's top recruit is also being held up yet by the Clearinghouse. Last spring there were serious rumors that Kanter was paid to play in Turkey and that there were bank transfers to prove it. Calipari said Kentucky had looked into it and there was nothing to it.

Will Barton, Melvin Ejim's teammate from Brewster was declared ineligible by the NCAA to play for Memphis. Barton was at three different high school's before going to Brewster. He was one of the top shooting guard prospects in the country.

Kanter and Selby are expected to be lottery picks next summer. I have little doubt Selby will be cleared. Barton is looking at D-League.
