The new restaurant in the former Broiler location is now open. We're planning to give it a try this weekend. Good reviews so far

Menu looks good. Ames is really lacking a nice place to get a good steak and Italian food.

You're right...Aunt Maudes and Lucullans are just terrible options.

Haven't been to Lucullans for years. Last time we went the service was horrible and the food wasn't anything to get excited about. I do love Aunt Maudes (and Audubon's too), but I guess I want some variety.

I've heard nothing but good things about this place. I'm excited to give it a try.

We've driven by this place several times and it always seems fairly busy for dinner. What does the menu look like price wise? On par with Aunt Maude's?

Went there tonight. The special deviled eggs , salads were all very good. Spaghetti with sugo sauce, chicken Marsala, and Lasagna were the meals we ate. Very reasonable in price, excellent service, nicely decorated. Talked with the owner. Glad to see someone start off so well, he had good money and experience backing him up, so he's off to a flying start.

A welcome addition to current restuarants offerings.

Re: Pazzesco Chop House in Ames

Well, this catches me off-guard; I didn't know The Broiler had shut down. Good grief, the place had been a fixture in Ames well before me and my parents moved to Ames in '63. The same family owned the restaurant, IIRC, for two generations at least. I'm glad someone bought the building and is taking over the same niche. Me and my wife ate there, when it was The Broiler, for New Years Eve dinner a number of years.

Very good. Samantha was our server and she did a great job. Chris, owner, came by to visit. We sat on the patio and experienced a really nice breeze. This was Saturday night. We will go back.
