    THOMAS OSBORNE THE FUSKER

thomas osborne says on the dave campbell web site that nebraska moved to the big 10 for stabilty.......that is the biggest damn lie i have ever heard from A BIG FUSKER.

the real reason he left the big twelve is that the fuskers were getting tired of getting their country butts thumped by texas and oklahoma.
come on tommy boy quit your lying between your teeth!!!

I like your passion, but anyone ripping on Nebraska for leaving the Big 12 needs to step back for a second. ISU would have left in a heartbeat for the Big 10, and would have taken a lesser deal than we are getting from the Big 12 just to get in.

Yep, I don't doubt for a minute Nebraska's biggest concern was stability.....isn't that ISU biggest concern right now?

The record with Texas has been pathetic to say the least since the Big 12 started. Speed initially was the problem.

If ISU had the chance to jump, I don't think we could have done it quickly enough. I have no ill will towards Nebraska for doing what they did. His job is too look out for the University of Nebraska. That is all.

If we had the chance, we would be in the BIg 10 too. Don't kid yourself. I am very nervous as I have a feeling that the Big 12 is on its last leg. It is being held together by a thread now. I do not trust the Texas schools at all. Nebraska and Osborn did what was best for them and to be honest, I am envious of them. Stable conference, more money to be made in the future...cant argue that.

It's a great move for Nebraska and it would have been out of its mind not to take it. A better situation in pretty much every possible way. Stability being one.

ISU has reason to want to jump .... Nebbie does not as they are not a threat to be left high and dry.

    Punk move by Nebbie IMO.

I'm sure Neb President Perleman couldn't sign fast enough once they got the Big Ten's offer. Let's face it - academically, they're joining a collection of schools where they clearly don't belong.

    **** Nebraska

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

    This right here.

And also that NU was never going to rule the Big12 the way they did the Big8, and they knew it.

You can thank Texas for why Nebraska left for the Big 10 so quick. They got out while the getting was good. The Big 10 really didn't want to take a team this quick in the process, but jumped on the opportunity to add Nebraska when it became clear the Big 12 was going to break up.

oh really?! How did that break up go again? Oh yeah, two schools left. Hardly what I would consider a "break up" of any kinds. I would label it more of a "spring cleaning" if anything.

The fact is Nebraska and Colorado both jumped ship before the situation could play itself out. Nebraska is lucky they went to the Big10 and will be fine financially. Colorado doesn't have that luxury and will be in a world of hurt the next few years.

Moving to the B10 was a no-brainer for them. I can't blame them. Anyone with a sound mind understands the move.
