Wow, certainly not needed. I don't know how to describe the act of putting that out there. I don't really want to say it was nice of them because it wasn't something they owed the public. I guess I would just say it is strong of them to put it out there. Very sad and tragic.
That's pretty much what I heard from someone at the scene. Sounds like the stairs were either snow-covered or just unlit and he fell down them and through the door. Then, of course, the big snows came and covered up the whole stairway, so searchers never saw any signs of entry.
Definitely a tough thing for the parents to put out there, but they are probably tired of being asked about it and having it brought up again and again.
As a parent of a son goign off to school this year, that is tough to read. I will say this, the Lacina's loss will be a lesson I discuss with my son tonight and hopefully thier loss will help another family avoid another one.
