    Iowa State Garden Stones

I've seen various Iowa State Yard or Garden stones around the Des Moines metro region. Does anyone know where one could find these in the Des Moines/Ames area?

    Thanks.

I have one, but my brother and I just painted it ourselves. Pretty basic and nothing fancy, but just did yellow lettering (ISU) and painted the rest of the rock red.

    Did you catch how much?

I was there about a month ago and saw one I was sure I was buying. Until, that is, I walked over, picked it up and saw it was priced at $139! About dropped it. Maybe that's market value on those things, I wouldn't know, but it seems awfully steep for a painted rock.

They have 3 different sizes at menards here in CR ranging from $80-$140 depending on the size.

Thanks for all the input. I had no idea they were that pricey. I may just make my own now.

    Re: Iowa State Garden Stones

I bought one at a craft fair a couple of years ago, prices were from 45 to 80. Guy would paint them on the spot and had all sorts of schools. May be a way to get one cheaper than the stores, but you may have to hunt around to find them.

Earl May on Douglas Ave (just south of Target on Merle Hay) has several. Sorry...don't know the prices.

Guess it's called One of a Find Creations - not One of a Kind. You can buy the stones plain or have them painted.

Those are kind of ugly compared to the ones they sell at Menards.
