    Football Tailgating

Where do most of you go to tailgate? My family and I have been over in the east grass lot for the past 3 years. Were thinking about making a change. Where are the best spots?

    Re: Football Tailgating

My dad prefers the spot furthest away from the stadium. Corner of University and Lincoln Way on the opposite side of Hilton. He's a bit anti-social...but there's a porto over there, so he's happy. I didnt have many friends that went to ISU and all of my friends are graduated, so I really dont have many folks my age to really get it goin with. So the typical tailgate consists of a nice breakfast for a morning game, some beer or bloodies. For a night game, we'll get into the beers, have a nice prime rib sandwich dinner then head to the Jack. We are usually in there to watch warm ups, usually when its only the kickers. I'm hopin to pick it up a bit this year and be a bit more social, be that guy wandering around by himself lookin for someone to drink with. See you then!

Something tells me that as long as you can make some decent conversation, you will be able to stop by pretty much any tailgate in the lots and have a good time.

we enjoy the concrete lots ... past that, the location doesn't matter, well just as long I can still smell the grilling around the stadium .....

I really don't want to wish summer away, but boy oh boy am I ready for tailgating and FB.

I try to hit all the tailgates with the noisiest, most ancient generators grinding out pure engine noise. These are the people I want to party with! If they don't give a flying fig to other people's eardrums, I figure they are the "party til you puke" people I want to hang out with.

    Lot C4 represent!

We always park just north of Lincoln Way and east of the creek in that residential area. There is always plenty of room for free parking there, then we just walk over and meet up with friends in C4.

Usually, the student lots (G2), lot 85E, and S8. I like to start the party in the student lots and then make my way over to some more laid back folk and grab some food. Works out perfect.

It's called a puking rally...a little throwing up never stopped a party that I've been at.

    D4 is where it's at.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than selfish and worry about my liver."
