Does anyone have a 3D tv?

Comcast carries ESPN3D in their lineup where I am at, but sadly I don't have the TV to try it.

Re: Boise St opener to be broadcast in ESPN 3D

3D is the dumbest idea corporate big wigs are trying to throw at us. Oh, we will have a 3D channel so you have to buy a special tv to watch it they'll say.
Then cable providers will get involved and make you buy a new 3D box.
That way the guys who own mediacom, comcast, sony, and panasonic can hawk their new wares at ya and get a kick back from people like espn who put that crappy station on the air.
And, by the way, do you know how stupid people look with those glasses on?

What is 3D sports bringing us? So the stupid ads and game stats come out at us? I dont see how this really adds anything substantial to the experience.

Not to be picky but to make it two words you'd have to do
    Cheerleaders
    Andrews

Good luck if you think Andrews and Cheerleaders will be in 3D. Maybe a little hologram so they look they are coming out of the screen.

It's going to be little advertisements and such that actually look 3D.

Re: Boise St opener to be broadcast in ESPN 3D

HDTV is phenomenal, but I don't see 3DTV catching on. I was at Best Buy a couple weeks ago, and checked it out (some movie was on). Admittedly, it seemed kinda cool, but imagine watching a movie with your girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse, and turning to them, and they have those goofy glasses on. Secondly, imagine going to watch a game at a sports bar, and everyone in the bar is wearing those obnoxious glasses while the are going crazy after every play.

I wouldn't mind watching a game in 3D, at least to see what it's like, but as a permanent trend, no interest.

I just don't want to wear the stupid glasses while I'm drinking. Knowing my luck I'll be drunk as hell and drop them in the crapper when I get up to take a ****.

3D would be cool if you didn't need glasses and if it was as clear as HD.

Correct. This won't catch on with ide use until they can get around the glasses issue. It sounds like the new Nintendo DS system does 3D without the glasses. If they can scale that technology up to a big screen TV, it may have a future. If not, it will probably remain a niche item for tech enthusiasts.
