    New Futurama tonight

    The Late Phillip J. Fry

This was a fantastic episode. One of the best of the series. Very high concept, lots of laughs. What more can you ask?

My favorite part of the episode was the professor appearing to make a grand speech describing the desolation of the end of the universe but really it's just a call for Bender to get him another beer.

    Professor: (paraphrased) Oh the emptiness!
Bender: I can take a hint. (hands him another beer)

    Just top notch.

I also thought last night's episode was excellent. Hopefully the writers are getting back into the swing of things. They were really getting on a roll the last two seasons...

    Re: New Futurama tonight

Yeah, Family Guy is so clever and witty. Do you remember that time the was a flashback and they cut away from the show and Peter beat up a chicken and stewie and brian sang something and some interchangeable joke was used and then Peter spit/punched/farted on meg. It was hilarious.

Futurama is 100X better, no questions asked

That show went from one of my favorites to one of my most hated shows real quick. I cannot stand watching that show. I can't even watch the old episodes that were actually good anymore.

Family Guy's original seasons were great but the show tanked after that I think. The biggest fault was when they decided to make Stewie more of a fruit and kind of dropped the whole taking over the world thing. Plus it is very easy to make a cheap joke when you can go "Hey remember that time when (insert random joke with a random event, person and adjective)." Peter does at least 10 of those jokes an episode it seems. Family Guy is for cheap laughs but it's comedy has no real depth.

As for Futurama, I will admit I don't watch it much or have gotten into it but if I catch it on, I find myself laughing. The one episode that stuck out to me was the "Slurm" episode which was Fry's favorite beverage that he couldn't stop drinking even after he found out the disgusting truth about Slurm.

Even though I haven't watched much Futurama, I'd say South Park still takes the cake. Sometimes they go overboard with their political agenda (although it's usually at the expensive of liberals and I'm conservative), but man they can really tear smug famous people down, which I'm all for.

I really like Futurama and I hope they can keep this show going, but it will never beat South Park in my mind. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard at a tv show in my life as I did the first time I saw the episode Butter's Bottom Bit**

Futurama is awesome and actually has some depth. The end of the new episode where Bender is saved as a baby by Hermes is pretty sad. I was not expecting that when I watched it.

The tips of the cap to the show's past are always a nice touch.

    (1) Where the Professor remarks about forward time travel allowing for more mistakes, and the subject of Fry getting freaky with his own grandmother comes up.

    (2) As they're making their way back around through time, there are snippets from old episodes included, just from a different vantage point.
