Any idea if the charges can escalate due to what happened to her? Providing alcohol is a pretty minor charge.

The bar probably sold the alcohol to him and he gave it to the girl. This bar allowed people under 21 so that might be how they got out of it.

So under your logic you couldn't be charged with OWI until you are 21.

Interesting. I didn't know that Ames had any 18 bars. They didn't when I was up there.

Just wondering how they can charge a minor with providing alcohol to another minor. You would think legally speaking that the offense that occurred was the person providing alcohol to either of them as they are both underage. Now I am really wondering how the bar is not facing any legal action over this.

I have no idea what happened in this case. My guess is the kid used a fake to buy booze, therefore taking the responsibility away from the bar. He then provided it to another minor, therefore breaking the law he is going to be charged with.

How do people know the guy charged wasn't of age? The article doesn't say that.

Now that is a scenario that I can buy where he should be charged. It is quite possible that is the exact scenario that played out.

in this case the bar would still get hit with some sort of citation for not catching a fake ID.
