    Help Desk

    If I have some questions maybe others do as well. Anyone that can help please reply.

    1) When adding a link. How do you change the address to a word like "link"?
    2) How do you do thumbnails, and are these straight from your hard drive?
    3)How many student tickets are counted for in the total?
    4) Ignore number 3.

    I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

    Re: Help Desk

    1. Just type the word "link" or whatever text you want linked. Then highlight it and click on the link icon above the text box. Paste the URL in there, click OK (or submit, can't recall) and you're done!

    2. Yes, these are uploaded from your PC at the time of posting the message.

    So with the thumbnails, how do you add the pictures.

    Thanks. And yes, I am not a computer expert.

    When you are composing a post, scroll down the page to "Additional Options." There, you'll see an option called "Attach Files." Click on the button labeled "manage attachments," and then you can browse your hard drive and add images.

    Maybe this will help. I'm going to do it including every detail

    When you want to enter a link, hit the link button. A popup window will prompt you for the link. Copy-paste in what you want, and when you hit "OK", text like the following will appear in the message:

    URL="http://www.iamgivingyouanexample.com"]http://www.iamgivingyouanexample.com[/URL

    Here I've removed the starting and ending brackets so that you can actually see the HTML code. The part that is [ URL="http://www.link.com"] is the actual link code. The part between the middle bracket after the quotation mark and before the [/ URL] tag is the text that will appear.

    As an example:

    URL="http://www.iamgivingyouanexample.com"]http://www.iamgivingyouanexample.com[/URL

    Will show up as:

    http://www.iamgivingyouanexample.com

    While:

    URL="http://www.iamgivingyouanexample.com"]Point your browser HERE[/URL

    Will show up as:

    Point your browser HERE

    Alternatively, if I were to type the word:

    LINK

    in my message box, then highlight it and click the link button, I can insert a hyperlink:

    LINK

    Which is what ISUFan22 was talking about.

    I hope that helps.

    When you are typing your message in the text box, there is a set of tool icons above the box. The one that looks like a miniature globe with a chain link in front of it is the "insert link" button. To add a hyperlink on top of your text, type the text that you want to become a hyperlink (e.g., the word "link"). Highlight that text. Then, with the text still highlighted, click the "insert link" button. Type or cut and paste the URL address you want to insert, and then click "OK." Your text should now be a hyperlinked to the URL you wanted.
